Materials You’ll Need:

Step-by-Step Tutorial:

Step 1: Take a 20cm x 5cm piece of paper and fold it in half to create a crease down the center. Then fold it in half again towards the center crease, flip it, and repeat the same on the other side. Unfold the paper.

Step 2: Now, create a zigzag fold on the right side of the paper between the right-side crease line and the center crease line. Next, perform the same fold on the other side of the paper.

Step 3: Flip the paper over. Fold the four corners towards the middle of the paper. Open the folded triangles you created and fold inwards the two top triangles simultaneously. Fold the top part horizontally between the triangles. Repeat the same process for the bottom of the paper.

Step 4: Flip the paper over. Fold it in half on both sides along the edge of the wide line of the paper.

Step 5: Flip the paper over and fold the bottom right corner to the center. Then, at the top, fold both corners down to create a triangle with the vertex pointing up.

Step 6: Repeat step 5 on the left side of the paper.

Step 7: Fold the two points on each top side of the heart down about 0.5cm. This will give your paper heart a more rounded look.

Step 8: Flip the paper over and write your special message in the center.

Step 9: Finally, zigzag fold in the sides of the heart towards the center crease. Gently press down on the folded sides, and your origami heart with a message is complete!
