Easy Stencils Art for Kids
Today I’m going to teach you all about stencils for kids! It’s such a fun and so easy to use material and below I’m sharing tutorials on the things kids can paint with it. I wanted to answer some common questions and go over the basics here, so you have a good starting point and a reference.

What is Stencil Art?
Stenciling is an arts technique for reproducing designs by passing ink or paint over holes cut in cardboard, plastic or metal onto the surface to be decorated. It’s a delightful project which keeps them productively engaged for some time, and they also have a lot of fun with these art supplies. One of the many advantages of stenciling for children is that it allows them to be imaginative and visionary. It helps develop their fine motor skills and their eye-hand and bilateral coordination.
Stencils
Stencil for kids is suitable for use at home, nurseries, playgroups, craft workshop and schools. There are many brands of washable art stencils including animal stencils, fruit stencils, emotion art stencils, transport stencils and seasonal (Christmas) art stencils. Remember to choose concepts that are appropriate for their level. Stencils for younger children will mainly comprise easy-to-draw illustrations. You can initiate those who are new with drawing stencil sets.
Today, we will use unicorn pattern stencils to make 3 beautiful pictures you can hang on the wall or display on wooden stands. Those stencils are easy to work with and pack contains 12 beautiful unicorn patterns.
Tools
Let’s get into some of the tools you can use with stencils. Young artist will love to use different shapes of sponge brushes, paint brushes and painting pallets to transfer paint on canvas or paper. Those tools are reusable and very easy to clean with water. You can also use dish-washing sponge you probably already have at home. Just cut it in smaller pieces so it will be easier to use by young artists. It can be a little bit messy,so remember to put some protecting mat or cardboard to cover the working space and save surfaces from spills,paint or scratches.
Materials
You will need non toxic paint for children and paper or canvas. I recomend using washable paint for younger children or better quality paint which doesn’t faint and make the masterpices even more special. You can also use glue and gliiter to make your art more shiny.
In this project we use also 20cm x 20cm canvas and Wooden Mini Easels to create this beautiful pictures which can be a great wall decoration or you can give it as a gift.
